Cefnogi Dysgu Anffurfiol / Supporting Informal Learning

Yn Adnoddau/Cyhoeddiadau Parallel.cymru

Mae pobl yn profi’r Gymraeg ar gontinwwm o alluoedd gwahanol, ond y ffordd draddodiadol o gynhyrchu deunydd yw’r i rannu’r ieithoedd.  Trwy gyflwyno deunyddiau darllen ochr yn ochr, yn paralel, ac wedi’u graddoli yn ôl hyfedredd, gall siaradwyr a dysgwyr o bob gallu fwynhau darllen a chefnogi’u datblygiad i’r lefel nesaf.  Dyma mae cynnwys parallel.cymru yn ei wneud- mae’n gwneud darllen Cymraeg yn hygyrch i bawb.

People experience Welsh on a continuum of abilities, but the traditional way of producing material is as a binary Welsh/English option. By presenting reading materials side by side, in parallel, sequenced by level of proficiency, speakers and learners of all abilities can enjoy reading and support their progression to the next level. This is exactly what parallel.cymru does- it makes reading Welsh accessible to all.

Fel deunydd dysgu anffurfiol, mae llawer o fanteision:

  • Mae pob erthygl ar gael yn rhad ac am ddim, ac ni fydd tâl ar gyfer mynediad byth.
  • Mae'r wefan yn gweithio’n dda ar dabledi a ffônau clyfar- ac nid oes angen lawrlwytho ap.
  • Nid oes angen cofrestru na mewngofnodi.
  • Bydd pob erthygl yn aros arlein gydag URL unigryw, ee parallel.cymru/?p=728.
  • Yn wahanol i gylchgronau traddodiadol, dydy’r cynnwys ddim yn diflannu ar ôl y cyhoeddiad nesaf, felly cewch fynediad i’r URL am flynyddoedd i ddod.
  • Gallwch ofyn i’ch dosbarth ddarllen erthygl cyn cwrdd, a’i thrafod yn y dosbarth.
  • Gallwch ddefnyddio erthygl neu ddyfyniad i gefnogi hysbyseb- e.e. defnyddio dyfyniad o gyfweliad awdur ar gyfer dosbarth darllen.
  • Gallwch lawrlwytho unrhyw erthgyl fel PDF i’w defnyddio all-lein (mae botwm coch ‘Lawrlwythwch yr erthygl fel PDF’ ar waelod pob erthygl).
  • Mae sain gyda sawl erthygl, felly mae pobl yn gallu gwrando ar sut mae'r iaith yn swnio, a darllen ar yr un pryd.  Gyda rhai erthyglau fel y Newyddion, mae Huw yn darllen ar ddau gyflymder- rheolaidd ac araf.  Mae mwy o wybodaeth am y sain ar y wefan.

As a resource for informal learning, there are lots of advantages:

  • Every article is available for free, and there will never be a charge for access.
  • The site works well on tablets and smart phones- and there is no need to download an app.
  • There is no requirement to register or log in.
  • Every article will stay online with a unique URl, such as parallel.cymru/?p=728.
  • Unlike traditional magazines, the content doesn't disappear after the next edition, so you can reference the URL for years to come.
  • You can ask your class to read an article before meeting, and then discuss in the class.
  • You can use an article or quotes to support an advertisement- for example using quotes from an author for a reading group.
  • You can download any article as a PDF to use off-line (there is a red 'Download the article as PDF' button on the bottom of each article).
  • Many articles include a narration, so that that people can listen to how the language sounds, and read at the same time. With some articles such as the News, Huw reads the article at two speeds- normal and slow. There is more information on the sound here.

Tiwtoriaid sydd yn defnyddio'r wefan hon:
"Ar ôl pori trwy parallel.cymru, penderfynais i ddefnyddio rhan o'r safle mewn gwers wythnos diwethaf. Buon ni, fel dosbarth Uwch, yn adolygu arddodiaid, ac wedi gwneud ychydig o waith arnyn nhw'r wythnos flaenorol. Felly dyma fi'n cyflwyno adran Dr Gramadeg - Arddodiaid i'r dosbarth, gan fynd dros ba arddodiad sy'n mynd gyda pha ferf. Ro'n nhw'n hoff o'r rhestr sy'n dangos y berfau mewn trefn yr wyddor. Roedd hefyd yn fuddiol gallu dangos yr arddodiaid sy'n rhedeg, a drilio ambell i un. Ond y peth gorau oedd chwarae'r gêm ar waelod y sgrîn, sy'n dangos cerdiau fflach gyda'r ferf ar un ochr y cerdyn a'r arddodiad cywir ar yr ochr arall. Roedd rhaid i'r dosbarth weiddi'r arddodiad cywir cyn i'r cerdyn droi. Gwnaethon nhw dasg ysgrifenedig wedyn. Maen nhw wedi addo ymarfer gartref, ond o leiaf gaethon nhw gyfle i adolygu'r gwaith yn y dosbarth. Diolch am greu ffordd hwylus o ymarfer gramadeg- a rhwydd i'r tiwtor, doedd dim rhaid i fi baratoi dim byd o ran y cyflwyno!" - Helen Morfydd Young - tiwtor Dysgu Cymraeg Gwent.

Tutors who are using this website:
"After browsing through parallel.cymru, I decided to use part of the site in a class last week. We were, as a Higher level class, revising prepositions, and a little bit of work on them the previous week. So I presented the Dr Gramadeg Prepositions section to the class, and went over which preposition goes with which verb. We were fond of the list which shows the verbs in the order of the alphabet. It was also helpful to show the prepositions which conjugate, and to drill some of them. But the best thing was playing the game at the bottom of the screen, which shows flash cards with the verb on one side of the card and the correct preposition on the other side. The class had to shout the correct preposition before turning the card over. We then did a written task. They promised to practice at home, but at least they had a chance to practice in the class. Thanks for creating a convenient way to practise grammar- and for the tutor, there was no need to plan the delivery!"
