Disgrifiad Gwales: Mae Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog yn enwog am ei harddwch naturiol ac am y llwybrau cerdded. Ond mae'r lle yn cyrraedd y newyddion am reswm arall; mae pobl yn cael eu lladd yn yr ardal.
Pegi Talfryn: Ro'n i wrth fy modd pan ges i’r gwaith o gyfieithu’r llyfr hwn, gan fy mod i’n hoff iawn o lyfrau trosedd. Buan y sylweddolais i y byddai’n rhaid lleoli’r nofel yn ardal Aberhonddu, gan fod y tirlun yn gymharol debyg i dirlun Swydd Efrog lle mae’r stori wreiddiol yn digwydd a hefyd gan fod catrawd milwrol yna. Digwydd bod, ron i wedi bod ar wyliau yn yr ardal ddwy flynedd ynghynt. Ond roedd rhaid i mi fynd at Awdurdod Parc Cenedlaethol Bannau Brycheiniog a gofyn am gymorth. Gofynnais i gwestiynau fel ‘ble byddai’n hawdd cuddio yn ymyl llwybr poblogaidd er mwyn neidio allan a llofruddio person?’ a ‘ble mae ffordd fach lle mae car cyffredin (ddim car pedair olwyn) yn gallu mynd i guddio corff?’ Ar ôl mynd adre roedd rhaid astudio pob lleoliad ar-lein er mwyn ceisio creu disgrifiadau realistig.
Adolygiad gan Sue Ward, Dysgwraig o Say Something in Welsh: Stori dditectif gyffrous. Oedd diddordeb gyda fi yn syth o’r frawddeg gyntaf. Doeddwn i ddim eisiau stopio darllen! Mae’r iaith yn addas ar gyfer dysgwyr, ac mae’r geirfa ddefnyddiol hefyd.
Gwales description: The Brecon Beacons National Park is famous for its natural beauty and for its walking trails. However the place reaches the news for another reason; people are being killed in the area.
Pegi Talfryn: I was thrilled when I was given the work of translating this book, as I adore crime novels. I quickly realised that I would have to locate the novel in the Brecon area, as the landscape is quite similar to the Yorkshire landscape where the original story happens, and because there is a military base there. As it happens, I’d been on holidays in the area two years earlier. But I had to go to the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority to ask for help. I asked questions such as ‘where would it be easy to hide on a popular footpath and jump out and kill a person?’ and ‘where’s a small road where a normal car (not a 4x4) could go to hide a body?’. After going home I researched each area online to try to create realistic descriptions.
Review by Sue Ward, learner from Say Something in Welsh: An exciting detective story. I had an interest straight from the first sentewnce. I didn't want to stop reading! The language is suitable to learners, and the vocabulary is very useful.
Y Gêm Beryglus: Tasgau
Gobeithio byddwch chi’n mwynhau darllen stori ‘Y Gêm Beryglus’ cymaint â wnes i! Dw i wedi paratoi tasgau i gyd-fynd â phob pennod yn y llyfr. Mae tasgau ar gyfer grwpiau os dych chi’n darllen y llyfr mewn clwb darllen neu ddosbarth ond hefyd mae tasgau ar gyfer unigolion i chi wneud ar eich pen eich hunan gartref.
Dw i’n awgrymu eich bod chi’n darllen pennod cyn trio gwneud y tasgau ar gyfer y bennod honno. Mwynhewch!
Y Gêm Beryglus: Tasks
I hope you enjoy reading ‘Y Gêm Beryglus’ as much as I did! I have prepared tasks to go with each chapter in the book. If you are reading the book in a reading club or a class have a go at the group tasks together but there are also individual tasks for those of you reading the book at home.
I suggest reading a chapter before trying the tasks for that chapter. Have fun!
