Fy Nghefndir i
Helo 'na bawb, Patrick sy 'ma! Ges i fy ngeni a'm magu yn Abertawe, ond es i bant i'r Brifysgol pan o'n i'n ddeunaw. 'Nes i ennill gradd Baglor yn y Celfyddydau (gydag Anrhydedd) ac wedyn Tystysgrif Astudiaeth Ôl-raddedig mewn Gwyddoniaeth (gan arbenigo mewn Cemeg a Mathemateg), ym Mhrifysgol Caergrawnt, rhwng 1988 a 1993.  Enillais i Ddoethuriaeth mewn Cemeg Fathemategol o Brifysgol Birmingham ym 1996.  Wrth i fi 'neud yr hyn oll, ro'n i'n gweithio'n galed iawn hefyd fel tiwtor mewn Mathemateg a Gwyddoniaeth.

Rwy wedi gweithio fel Cymar Ymchwil i Brifysgolion Rhydychen, Caerwysg, a Sussex, lle ro'n i'n dysgu Mathemateg a Gwyddoniaeth hefyd.  Rhwng 1999 a 2011 ro'n i'n dilyn gyrfa eithriadol o werthfawr a boddhaus yn gweithio fel Uwch Ddarlithydd mewn mathemateg ym Mhrifysgol Northumbria yn Newcastle.

My Background
Hello everyone, Patrick here! I was born and brought up in Swansea but went off to university when I was eighteen. I was awarded a BA (Hons), and then a Certificate of Postgraduate Study in Natural Sciences (specializing in Chemistry and Maths), at Cambridge University, between 1988 and 1993. I obtained a PhD from Birmingham University in Mathematical Chemistry in 1996. Whilst doing all these things, I tutored extensively in Maths and Science.

I have worked as a Research Fellow at the Universities of Oxford, Exeter, and Sussex, where I also taught Maths and Science. Between 1999 and 2011 I had an extremely fulfilling and rewarding career working as a Senior Lecturer in Mathematics at Northumbria University in Newcastle.

Dysgu a Defnyddio'r Gymraeg
Dechreuais ddysgu'r Gymraeg yn Nhŷ Tawe, pan ddes i adref, ac rwy wedi bod wrthi ers chwe blynedd erbyn hyn.  Rwy'n dwlu ar yr iaith Gymraeg ac ar y diwylliant Cymreig, ac rwy wastad yn ceisio ymarfer, rhannu syniadau a'm cariad at yr iaith, a dysgu mwy.  Enillais i Dlws Rhyddiaith y Dysgwyr yn Eisteddfod Genedlaethol Y Fenni yn 2016 gyda darn o'r enw ‘Pontydd’.

Wedyn sefais i'r arholiad Safon Uwch ar gyfer Siaradwyr Ail Iaith fis Mehefin 2017, ac enillais i 'ragoriaeth.'  Bellach, rwy'n 'neud llawer iawn o waith i'r wefan ddwyieithog arloesol 'ma, Parallel.cymru, fel awdur, fel golygydd, ac fel cyfieithydd.

Learning and Using Welsh
I began to learn Welsh in Tŷ Tawe when I came back home, and I've been working at it now for six years. I love the Welsh language and Welsh culture, and I'm always trying to practise, to share ideas and my love of the language, and to learn more. I won the Prose Medal for Learners in the National Eisteddfod in Abergavenny in 2016, with a piece entitled 'Bridges'.

Then, I sat the A-Level exam for Second-Language Speakers in May 2017, and I got a 'distinction.' Now I'm doing a great deal of work for this pioneering bilingual website, Parallel.cymru, as an author, an editor, and a translator.

Fy Ngwaith i ar Hyn o Bryd
Rwy'n hunangyflogedig ar hyn o bryd.  Y peth sy'n fy ysgogi gryfa' yw chwilfrydedd enfawr, ac awydd i archwilio pethau newydd, gan ddatblygu a mynegi gallu creadigol.  Rwy'n dwlu ar ehangu fy neall a'm dirnadaeth, ac helpu pobl eraill i 'neud yr un peth, ac i fynd â'r maen i'r wal yn beth bynnag maen nhw eisiau ei 'neud.

Rwy'n dysgu gwyddoniaeth, mathemateg, Saesneg, a Chymraeg i bobl sy'n sefyll arholiadau TGAU a Safon Uwch, a hyd yn oed i rai sy'n fyfyrwyr mewn prifysgolion.  Rwy'n gweithio wyneb yn wyneb, gyda grwpiau, a thros y rhyngrwyd.

Current Work
I'm self-employed at present. My main drive is enormous curiosity and a desire to explore new things, and to develop, and express creativity. I love expanding my understanding and insight; and helping others to do the same and achieve their goals in whatever they want to do.

I teach maths, science and English to people who are sitting GCSEs and A-Levels, and even some university students. I work face-to-face, with groups, and over the internet.

Helpu gyda'r Gymraeg
Rwy eisiau defnyddio'r iaith Gymraeg fwyfwy gyda myfyrwyr, gan ddysgu drwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg, a thrwy weithio fel tiwtor iaith Gymraeg i bobl ifanc ac oedolion hefyd.
