Elliw Gwawr- Blasus

Elliw Gwawr: Blasus- Gyda rysáit ar gyfer crempogau afal a llus / With a recipe for apple and blueberry pancakes

Mae Elliw Gwawr yn gweithio fel gohebydd seneddol i’r BBC yn Llundain, ond yn ei hamser sbâr mae'n mwynhau coginio. Yn dilyn llwyddiant ei blog Paned a Chacen, y blog Cymraeg cyntaf am bobi, mae Elliw wedi chyhoeddi dwy gyfrol poblogaidd- Paned a Chacen & Pobi, llyfrau sy'n llawn o'i hoff gacennau, bisgedi a phwdinau. Nawr mae ganddi drydedd cyfrol - Blasus, llyfr o ryseitiau i fwydo’r teulu cyfan, ac yn y cyflwyniad unigryw hwn mae'n rhannu mwy am y llyfr ac yn cyfrannu dwy rysáit- crempogau afal a llus & tameidiau twrci.

Elliw Gwawr works as a political correspondent for the BBC in London, but in her spare time enjoys cooking. Following the success of her blog Paned a Chacen, the first Welsh baking blog, Elliw has published two popular volumes- Paned a Chacen (Tea and Cakes) & Pobi (Baking), books which are full of her favourite cakes, biscuits and puddings. Now she has a third volume – Blasus (Tasty)- a book of recipes to feed the whole family, and in this exclusive introduction she shares more about the book and contributes two recipes- apple and blueberry pancakes & turkey nuggets.

Wedi llwyddiant y ddau lyfr cyntaf, Paned a Chacen a Pobi, roeddwn i’n awyddus i drydedd gyfrol fod ychydig yn wahanol. Ar ôl cael plentyn, bu raid i mi feddwl o’r newydd am yr hyn yr oeddem yn ei fwyta gartref, ac roedd o’n dipyn o her i mi feddwl am ryseitiau iach a blasus fyddai’n plesio plentyn bach a gweddill y teulu. After the success of the first two books, Paned a Chacen and Pobi, I wanted the third volume to be a little different. After having children, I had to think afresh about what we were eating at home, and it was a bit of a challenge for me to come up with healthy and tasty recipes which would please small children and also the rest of the family.
Felly yn syml llyfr ydi hwn o’r hyn da ni wedi bod yn bwyta fel teulu dros y dair mlynedd ddiwethaf- o’r bwydydd cyntaf i fabis sy’n dechrau ar fwyd solet, i brydau iachus i’r teulu cyfan. So this is simply a book of what we as a family have eaten over the last three years- from the first food for babies beginning on solid food, to healthy meals for the whole family.
Dwi’n ymwybodol iawn mae un o’r heriau mwyaf i reini yw cael plant i fwyta digon o lysiau, felly mae yna ryseitiau blasus sy’n cynnwys llysiau cudd. Ac er bod yna lot mwy o fwydydd sawrus dwi ddim wedi rhoi’r gorau i greu cacennau’n llwyr. I am very conscious that one of the biggest challenges for parents is getting children to eat enough vegetables, so there are tasty recipes that contain hidden vegetables. And although there is a lot of savoury food I have not given up making cakes completely.
Felly, mae yna ddanteithion blasus ar gyfer partïon ac achlysuron arbennig, ac i’r plant lleiaf, mae yna ryseitiau am gacennau a phwdinau llawer llai melys na’r hyn y byddwch yn ei gysylltu â mi. Mae pob un rysáit yn y llyfr hwn wedi cael sêl bendith fy mab. Ac os ydi o’n dweud eu bod nhw’n flasus, yna dwi’n gobeithio y bydd pobol eraill yn cytuno ag o hefyd! So, there are tasty delicacies for parties and special occasions, and for the smallest children there are recipes for cakes and puddings much less sweet than those you will associate me with. Each recipe in the book has received my son's seal of approval. And if he says they are tasty, then I am hoping other people will agree with him too!
Dwi’n gwybod pa mor anodd ydio i feddwl am swper iach a blasus y bydd pawb yn ei fwynhau, felly dwi’n gobeithio bod yna ddigon o syniadau newydd yma i bobl eu trio. Ar y cyfan mae’r ryseitiau yn hawdd a chyflym efo cynhywsion syml y gallwch ffeindio ymhob archafarchnad neu siop leol. I know how difficult it is to think of a healthy and tasty dinners that everyone will enjoy, so I hope that there are enough new ideas here for people to try out. On the whole the recipes are easy and quick, using simple ingredients that you can find in any supermarket or local shop.
Felly dwi’n gobeithio y bydd hwn yn lyfr y bydd pobl yn troi ato yn gyson ac y bydd rhai o’r rysieitau ynddo yn dod yn ffefryn i deuluoedd eraill hefyd. So I hope that this will be a book that people turn to constantly and that some of the recipes in it will become favourites of other families too.

Fy stori fel cogydd / My story as a chef

Fe ddechreuais i goginio adra gyda fy mam a fy nain. Fel plentyn roeddwn i wrth fy modd yn eu gwylio yn pobi, ac yn bachu ar bob cyfle i’w helpu. Ac wrth gwrs roeddwn i wastad yn gwneud yn siwr fy mod i o gwmpas i lyfu’r llwy os oedden nhw’n gwneud cacen! Mae’n ddiddordeb sydd wedi aros gyda mi, fyth ers hynny, a dwi dysgu a datblygu drwy wylio eraill ac arbrofi gyda ryseitiau newydd. I began cooking at home with my mother and my grandmother. As a child I was in my element watching them bake, and jumped at every chance to help them. And of course I always made sure that I was around to lick the spoon if they were making cake!. This is an interest that has stayed with me ever since, and I learn and develop by watching other people and experimenting with new recipes.
Fe ddaeth y cyfle i gyhoeddi fy llyfr cyntaf, Paned a Chacen ar ôl i mi ddechrau blog o’r un enw. Fe benderfynais ddechrau ysgrifennu am fy mhrofiadau yn y gegin, yn cofnodi beth yr oeddwn yn ei goginio, a‘r ryseitiau yr oeddwn yn eu trio. Doedd neb wedi gwneud hynny yn y Gymraeg o’r blaen, ac roedd yr ymateb iddo yn wych- felly mewn ffordd estyniad o’r blog oedd y llyfr cyntaf. The opportunity came to publish my first book, Paned a Chacen, after I started a blog of the same name. I decided to begin writing about my experiences in the kitchen, making a record of what I was cooking and of the recipes I was trying. Nobody had done this in Welsh before, and the response was great- so in a way the first book was a continuation of the blog.
Nawr ar fy nhrydedd llyfr, dwi wedi ceisio cynnig rhwybeth ychydig yn wahanol eto. Mae yna gymaint o lyfrau coginio Saesneg, ond prin yw’r dewis yn y Gymraeg, felly dwi’n gobeithio fy mod yn llenwi bwlch yn y farchnad ac yn creu llyfrau deniadol chyfoes mae pobl eisiau defnyddio dro ar ôl tro. Now on my third book, I have tried to offer something a little different again. There are so many English cooking books, but the choice in Welsh is limited, so I hope I am filling a gap in the market and creating attractive contemporary books which people will want to use time after time.
Erbyn hyn dwi’n ceisio pasio’r diddordeb yna ymlaen i fy mab. Mae o wrth ei fodd yn potsian yn y gegin, ac mae rhoi’r cyfle yna i blant yn holl bwysig yn fy marn i. Currently I am trying to pass this interest on to my son. He is in his element pottering in the kitchen, and in my opinion giving children the opportunity to do this is all important.
Mae gen i atgofion melys iawn o helpu fy mam a fy nain yn y gegin, a dwi wedi ffeindio bod y rhan fwyaf o blant yn mwynhau’r cyfle i ddangos eu creadigrwydd yn y gegin. Be well na chyfle i chwarae, arbrofi a gwneud bach o lanast. I have very fond memories of helping my mother and grandmother in the kitchen, and I have found that most children enjoy the opportunity to show their creativity in the kitchen. What better than the chance to play, experiment and make a little mess.
Ac wrth gwrs ar ddiwedd y broses daw’r boddhad o gael rhywbeth blasus i’w fwyta. Mae coginio hefyd yn ffordd wych o ddysgu. Boed hynny am fwydydd newydd, o ble mae cynhwysion yn dod a sut mae eu cyfuno i wneud rhywbeth hyfryd ac iachus. And of course, at the end of the process comes the satisfaction of getting something tasty to eat. Cooking is also a great way to learn. This may be about new food, about where ingredients come from, and how they combine to make something nice and healthy.
Wrth bwyso a mesur mae yna gyfle i ddysgu am rifau a chyfri. Ac mae pobi yn cynnig dipyn o wers cemeg hefyd, wrth iddyn nhw weld sut y bydd cynhwysion digon syml, o’u cyfuno yn y ffordd iawn yn gallu tyfu ac ehangu i greu rhywbeth hollol wahanol. Through weighing and measuring there is a chance to learn about numbers and counting. And baking offers a bit of a chemistry lesson too, as they see how it is that simple enough ingredients combined in the right way can grow and spread out to make something entirely different.

Crempogau Afal a Llus / Apple and Blueberry Pancakes

Elliw Gwawr- Crempogau afal a llus

Mae crempogau’n fwyd delfrydol ar gyfer plant bach sy’n dechrau bwydo eu hunain. Mae’r rhain yn llawn afal a llus, felly maen nhw’n flasus ac yn faethlon. Tameidiau Twrci / Turkey Nuggets

Elliw Gwawr- Tameidiau twrci

Os yw eich plant wrth eu boddau â’r tameidiau cyw iâr, neu’r chicken nuggets, sydd ar gael mewn bwytai neu siopau, beth am drio gwneud y tameidiau twrci yma gartref? Heb yr holl halen ac yn llawn llysiau cudd maen nhw’n llawer mwy iach. Ond eto maen nhw’n syml iawn i’w gwneud ac, yn bwysicach oll, yn flasus hefyd. Mae’r rysáit yn cynnwys syniadau am ba lysiau y gallwch eu defnyddio, ond defnyddiwch chi beth bynnag sydd gennych yn y tŷ ar y pryd.
